Gardet
As 27-year founders/owners of Fine Wine Delivery… Virginia and I have travelled to many of the World’s greatest wine regions & appellations, many times. A favourite place for us is France’s Champagne region; and one of our favourite Champagne Houses is Gardet. Family owned since 1895, they age their Champagnes longer and produce beautifully fine & dry Champagnes which we regularly enjoy.
When we sat down to name our very first ‘Family & Friends’ Group Ownership… we were enjoying our favourite regular house Champagne… Gardet Premier Cru Blanc de Noir. Accordingly, we gave this exciting first ‘Group’ the name ‘Gardet’ … and committed to open a bottle whenever any of these 3 wonderful horses wins. And… to celebrate the ‘Big Wins’ with Gardet Family & Friends group members, popping the cork on a ‘LARGE’ bottle.
The 1st horse is Mr. Vivaci
A gelding by sire Tivaci out of dam Whatevs. Tivaci was a sprinting type who earned over $2m in career prizemoney. Whatevs has numerous Black Type winners in her family. She foaled Tintinwin who has had several wins in Australia. He is a replica of his father Tivaci’s body shape and has the action and calm, confident attitude of his half-sister Sanzera who won 2/4 in Australia. This boy is pleasing to the eye and instantly likeable... a slow maturing type he is only just coming into racing as a late 3, early 4-year-old. He won his Maiden Race (Race 2) at Yarra Valley 08/02/2025 by a whopping 9-lengths – The commentator described his win as ‘Effortless’.

The 2nd horse is Rose Noir
A gorgeous bay/brown coloured filly by Sire Divine Prophet... (winner of MRC Caufield Guineas and Sire to many winners already) – this is a stallion steeply on the rise. Her Dam Raspberry Rose won 3 times over 1000 – 1200... her 2nd & 3rd Dams have won multiple times over the same distance... her 4th Dam foaled 4 Group winners with a combined 13 Group 1,2 & 3 races to their credit. This is a family of speed. She is bred to sprint and there is considerable Black Type racing success on both sides of her parentage. She is eye catching and carries herself with swagger... has excellent body confirmation and serious potential.

The 3rd horse is Le Chocolat
An impressive Bay gelding... his Sire the popular stallion Ocean Park who won numerous times from 1200 – 2050 metres (a Cox Plate winner and Leading NZ & Australian Sire 2019-2020). His Dam is La Praline... a winner of 4 races 1100 – 1400m. La Praline is a half-sister to Golden Archer (career earnings $677,000), who is standing at stud in Queensland these days. Le Chocolat has incredible muscle, confirmation, action and presence... he will run between 1200 – 2000... his best distance likely 1600. A powerful, impressive boy.
