Comtes de Blanc de Blancs is the Prestige Cuvée of the iconic Champagne House Taittinger. Just one of 12 Champagne Houses designated as ‘Grand Marque’. 100% Chardonnay, it’s a beautifully rich, deeply layered, elegant Champagne. A cerebral and captivating experience, we will mark the big, thrilling wins with Comtes. Virginia and I have dined with Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger at the family-owned Château de la Marquetterie. We have also been privileged to dine on occasions with the elegant and beautifully spirited Clovis Taittinger, son of Pierre-Emmanuel. Nothing could be more apt than marking this syndicate with the name ‘Comtes’ – and of course be under an obligation to celebrate the big occasions with this amazing Champagne.

The 2nd horse
(Yet to be named)... is a gorgeous, powerful, and soon to be full grey filly (her coat will mature to a full grey) by Sire ‘Reliable Man’ – Five wins from 2000-2400m, including the Chantilly Prix du Jockey Club. He was Leading First Season Sire in Germany in 2017. Sire of 717 runners & 434 winners.
Her 1st Dam is ‘Sure Enough’ by Fastnet Rock... she is Dam to 4 foals including 2-winners and won over 1950m herself. Her 2nd Dam ‘Pretty Proud’ had 2-wins and includes ‘Mutasaawy’ in her family, who had 9 wins from 1-mile to 2¼-miles... accumulating US$364,501 in earnings. Her 3rd Dam ‘Thorough Fair’ had 3-wins and her wider family has enjoyed 12 Group Racing successes and includes Nick Can Fix (Majestic Warrior) with 18 wins from 5½ furlongs to 1-mile. The 3rd horse
(Yet to be named)... is an eye-catching Brown/Bay Colt by Sire ‘El Roca’... who sired 228 runners & 137 winners. He stands at Westbury Stud in Karaka.
He is the 6th foal of Dam ‘Caramellos’, whose 2021 filly ‘TimeOnLees’ is at Mitchell McEvoy Stables in Ballarat/Victoria. She has had two impressive trials and 3rd, 2nd, 3rd placings in her latest preparation. ‘Caramellos’ youthful progeny have produced one winner and 2 place runners. Her 2nd Dam ‘Bali Sugar’ had four wins at 1200m. She foaled 11 runners with 5 winners including 'Viennetta' and 'Butterscotch' and left the legacy of 'Golden Archer who chalked up 8 wins over 1200m and prize money of $676,950...and became a popular sire. Another 3yo in the family is 'Letsrollthedice'... a multiple Group 1 & 2 winner already with $470,000 in earnings. Her 3rd Dam ‘Tasman Dancer’ foaled 7 winners including ‘Headturner’ ... (Yet to be named)... is a Brown colt by French bred & raced Sire ‘Vadamos’ – 8 wins from 1600m to 2400m, including the famous French Gr.1 Mile race... ‘Prix du Moulin de Longchamp’. He was the Leading Second Season Sire in NZ in 2021-22. He has sired 292 runners including 150 winners.
He is the 5th foal of his Dam ‘Ysabelle’ ... her only foal to race having won at 2050m. Ysabelle hails from the ‘Belle' family whose contemporary star ‘Melody Belle’ won 19 times including 9 Group 1 races. Her $600,000 1st place prizemoney at the $1,000,000 Karaka Millions 2-year-old race part of her career winnings of $4,224,049.
