Glorious Journey and Urban Triumph are racing in Hong Kong. This is one of the toughest racing jurisdictions in the world and one of the hardest places to win a race. Many horses struggle to settle in the Hong Kong environment and do not cope and many others need time to adjust from living in New Zealand.

Both these horses won in fine style within four days of each other. Glorious Journey was the first to compete, jumping the barrier, carrying top weight, to be behind the field for most of the 1650 m journey until they turned the corner where he went from last to first and won by ½ length. He showed an amazing turn of foot and was very exciting to watch. He won in only his fourth start in Hong Kong.

To follow this exciting race, Urban Triumph was not to be out done by his close relation. He travelled mid field on the fence and then had to be pulled out wide and weave his way through horses to win. He also showed incredible acceleration to finish the final segment of the race. Urban Triumph has taken a little longer to win his maiden win in Hong Kong winning in his 10* start.

Both Glorious Journey and Urban Triumph have been bred by Kevin and Julie Taylor from Koru Thoroughbreds. Their dams are very closely related, descending from the Taylor's original broodmare, Bali Sugar. The Taylor's are breeding from seven mares today, daughters, granddaughters and even a great granddaughter has recently been retired to the broodmare band. The Taylor's have made a significant investment in retaining and breeding this family and have always had great faith in this winning family.

Glorious Journey is a four year old by the stallion, Sacred Falls out of La Praline whose half brothers are Le Chocolat and Vin Santo whom are both in separate syndicates.

Urban Triumph is also a four year old by Divine Prophet out of Glaze. Divine Prophet is a full brother to the very successful stallion, Proisir. Glaze was a very fast filly and clearly her son has shown that he has inherited her ability.
